Environmental Justice League
The Environmental Justice League (EJL) constitutes leaders within the Russo/McEntee Academy community. Enrollment is extended to 4th, 5th, and select 3rd-grade students eager to learn more about the environment and lead the school in environmental justice and sustainability initiatives. Sessions are held once a week under the guidance of our Outdoor Education Coordinator.
The EJL's current focus is on learning and practicing sustainable practices with particular emphasis on composting, food waste, and regenerative gardening. The league actively engages local organizations, inviting them to deliver presentations and collaborate alongside our students.
Environmental Justice Recyclers
The Environmental Justice Recyclers (EJR) are dedicated to actively participating in the recycling of plastic bottles and cans, promoting a strong sense of community and environmental responsibility. Through these recycling initiatives, EJR aims to inspire peers and families to adopt similar practices at home and on our school campus. This program empowers children to take proactive steps towards making a positive impact on their environment. The money raised through these recycling efforts goes directly to supporting our school.
