Russo/McEntee students have a unique opportunity to engage in environmental instruction which is integrated across all grade levels. Each grade level works with the students on imparting signature lessons. These lessons unfold through multiple pathways: observing, discussing, writing, measuring, enacting, representing, calculating. We bring the student learning to life by using our garden as a central theme for teaching skills in math, reading, science, and social studies.
We contract with organizations like Science from Scientist to provide curriculum and hands on lessons where our students learn about real world problems impacting our environment. Our district adopted Foss curriculum helps bridge research and practice by providing tools and strategies to engage our students and teachers.
